Tigers, Lady Tigers compete at Regionals

ENID, Okla. — The Newkirk Tigers and Lady Tigers track teams traveled to Chisholm High School April 30 for the Regional track meet, and several competitors are finding themselves representing Newkirk at the state meet tomorrow in Catoosa, Okla.

Those headed to State following Regionals are Kaylen Mills, Alexia Smith, Miranda Chase, Dalton Osborn and Nathan Randol.

The Lady Tigers received eighth place in the event, with a total of 23 points.

In running events, Alexia Smith earned fifth place in the 100M hurdles, with a time of 17.90. She also earned fifth place in the 200M dash, with a time of 28.01. Miranda Chace placed sixth in the 400M dash, with a time of 1:09.47

In non-running events, Smith earned third place in the long jump, with a distance of 14 ft. 11.75 in. Chace fourth in the high jump, hitting the 4 ft. 10 in. mark, and eighth place in the long jump, with a distance of 3 ft., 4.75 in., as well as. Kaylen Mills earned third place in the pole vault, with a mark of 8 ft. 6 in., and Haiden Huster earned fifth place in the shot put, with a distance of  30 ft.

The Tigers also came in eighth place, with 21 points.

In running events, the relay team made fifth place in the 4x200M relay, with a time of 1:38.71.

In other events, Nathan Randol earned second place in the discus throw, with a distance of  114 ft. 6 in. Dalton Osborn earned fourth in the pole vault, with 8 ft. 6 in. Landen Vap won fourth place in the long jump, with a distance of 18 ft., 10.75 in., and sixth place in the shot put, with a distance of 37 ft., .5 in.
