Tiger boys fall to Hulbert at Regionals

The Newkirk Boys Tigers basketball team began regionals at Dale, playing at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 26 against the Luther Lions.
The Tigers jumped out to a 23-16 halftime lead and prevailed 52-44. They went on to play again at 7:30 Friday against the Hulbert Rangers.
The Tigers were tied 6-6 at the end of the first quarter and led 24-18 at halftime. Hulbert closed the gap with the Tigers leading 34-33 at the end of the third quarter. The Rangers ultimately won 51-43.
That marked the end of the season for the Tiger boys, finishing with a 12-14 record.
