Tigers, Lady Tigers earn medals at Medford track meet

MEDFORD, Okla. — The Newkirk Tigers and Lady Tigers track teams hit the road for Medford Friday, April 9, and many returned with medals for their efforts.
In running events, Lady Tiger Alexia Smith earned second place in the 200M dash with a time of 28.02, and fourth place in the 100M hurdles, with a time of 19.16. Miranda Chase won second place in the 400M dash.
Several Tigers also placed. Brady Lavers earned third place in the 100M dash and fifth place in the 200M dash. Anthony Kreger placed sixth in the 3200M run.
There was also plenty of competition in field events. In the long jump, Smith earned first place, while Chase came in fourth place. Smith also scored second in the high jump, and Chase came in fourth. Kaylen Mills earned a gold medal in the pole vault.
The Tigers also scored in the field events. Landon Vap earned fifth place in the long jump, and Dalton Osborn placed second in the pole vault.
