PCFMC to present AMERICANA! At amphitheater

NEWKIRK — The Kay County Amphitheater will kick-off the Fourth of July season on June 11 at

7 p.m. Patriotic and American music will be presented by the Ponca City Federated Music Club’s (PCFMC) Ukulele Club, the Choral Workshop and Miss Suzi’s Singing School.

The Ukulele Club will take the audience on a brief tour of our wonderful country with songs about cities. Students and Junior PCFMC members will present American folk songs sung by Reese Jenkins and Maya Wohler. Solos and duet hits from Broadway musicals including Annie Get Your Gun, Gypsy, Wicked, Jekyll & Hyde, Thoroughly Modern Millie and Wicked will be sung by Claire Davis, Frankie Diaz & Jaelyn Stolhand, Mallory Stolhand and Taylee Slavin and Abby Davis. Kay Anthony-Rice and Debra Rue will provide a piano duet “Summertime” from Porgy and Bess. Jericah Wood from Newkirk, student of Elizabeth Odom, will begin the Oklahoma! segment followed by additional selections from this musical sung by the PCFMC Choral Workshop. Accompanying on the piano will be Connie Van Ausdall.

The Choral Workshop will also provide patriotic selections followed by an audience sing-along. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy an evening of everyone’s favorite American music!
