Fire department holds reunion

Last weekend, the Newkirk Fire Department hosted a reunion cookout to help celebrate its 125th anniversary. The department invited back past members to help celebrate and to say thanks for helping lay the foundation of what the department is today.
“It was a great day listening to how things used to be done, war stories, seeing past members, seeing old friends they have not seen in many years and just reminiscing about the old days,” said Newkirk Fire Department Chief Adam Longcrier. “This day was about these men and women. As we celebrate our past and look towards the future we as a fire department cannot forget who came before us.”
