Kay County Health Department to provide curbside COVID-19 testing

PONCA CITY — The Kay County Health Department (KCHD) has announced curbside COVID-19 testing is currently underway by appointment only at the Kay County Health Department, 433 Fairview Ave., Ponca City, while supplies are available.

The KCHD will also be conducting testing at the Blackwell facility, 1706 S. Main, Blackwell. That facility can be contacted at (580) 363-5520.

The KCHD encourages those individuals 18 years and older who are experiencing a fever of 100.4 or higher, cough or shortness of breath to contact the KCHD at (580) 762-1641 to reserve an appointment. Testing is free and does not require insurance. Instructions for using the curbside testing service will be provided at the time the appointment is made.

A physician’s order is not needed in order to be tested through the KCHD’s curbside testing option. However, they do encourage established patients seeking testing to contact their primary care provider.

Please remember COVID-19 testing at the KCHD is being done curbside, by appointment only. Individuals are asked to remain in their vehicle at all times.
