Kay County Walk of Warriors dedicated

NEWKIRK — Military and community supporters joined together Sunday afternoon, Sept. 19 for a special ceremony at the Kay County War Memorial, in front of the Kay County Courthouse. The ceremony was a dedication of the Walk of Warriors, a tribute veterans of all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces who have risked or given their lives to protect freedom across the globe.

In preparation for the Kay County Walk of Warriors dedication, the Newkirk American Legion Auxiliary sponsored a patriotic coloring contest at local elementary schools. The winners were Lela Combs, Serenity Lindsey Grace, Newkirk American Legion Auxiliary Poppy Princess Brynn Liberton, Lilly Ingram, Nia Alvarado and Addison Thornton.

Arkansas City American Legion Riders and Four Kings Motorcycle Club brought in the colors for the Kay County Walk of Warriors dedication.
