Everett Brazil, III/The Newkirk Herald Journal Newkirk High School students celebrated the end of the school year Monday afternoon, May 16 with the annual Fun Day, with activities including a water slide, volleyball and even face painting. The last day of school was yesterday, May 18.

Kaw Nation Gaming and Tribal leaders cut the red ribbon at 2:15, and were followed by AC/DC tribute band Back in Black. The restaurant opened that evening at 5.
