The 100-year old fountain in front of the Kay County Courthouse is set to begin renovation soon. It is currently enclosed with fencing. Garhett Rose, owner of Kaleidoscope Construction, is in charge of the project.
“We’re hoping the weather will clear up soon enough and long enough to get some work done on it,” Rose said last Friday afternoon.
He said that once work begins, once its sand blasted and any cracks are repaired we will apply a new water proof coating system, new epoxy paint, some decorative pool tile for the interior of the fountain and supply it with a new pump.”
Kaleidoscope Construction was awarded the bid by the Kay County Board of Commissioners during their April 20 meeting. Work was set to begin in late May and be finished by July. The bid was awarded for $44,935.
