Second season debuts at Kay County Amphitheater

NEWKIRK — The Newkirk Arts Council (NAC) is excited to announce a splendid second summer season at the Kay County Amphitheater. The venue is located at Ninth and Main in Newkirk and events will run from May through October.
The lineup will include artists who are well known around the area as well as numerous free children’s events. Calendar of events:
May 6 at 6:30 p.m. will be the Sweet Sounds Jazz Showcase. The evening will feature the Ponca City High School Jazz Band. The Doodle Academy will be onsite offering art activities. Chick-fil-A food truck menus and snow cones will be available for purchase from 6-8 p.m.
May 29 at 2 p.m. The Texas Youth Chorale is making a stop on their tour to perform at the amphitheater. A local artist will also be onsite for a children’s art workshop. Snow cones will also be available for purchase.
June 11 at 7 will be aWorship Night in Newkirk with the Rise Up praise band. Tacos El Sauz food truck menu and snow cones will be available for purchase from 6:30-8 p.m.
July 1 at 6 p.m. will be a Freedom Celebration with food, fun and a few other surprises. The Doodle Academy will be onsite offering art activities. Chik-fil-A food truck menus and other concession options will be available for purchase from 6 – 8 p.m.
August 19 at 7 p.m. will be the second annual Back to School Bash & Youth Has Talent. The Doodle Academy will be onsite offering art activities. A sidewalk chalk art contest will be held with prizes awarded. Chik-fil-A food truck menu and snow cones will be available for purchase from 6 – 8 p.m.
Fall activities will be announced later in the summer.
