Early voting starts
Press Release
Early voting begins Thursday March 30 for voters in Kay County for municipal offices in Braman, Kaw City, Newkirk and Tonkawa, and voters in school districts in Kildare, Newkirk, Tonkawa and Ponca City will elect board members. Voters in the County Commissioner District Number Three will elect a commissioner on the same day.
Voters who will not be able to make it to the polls on Election Day have the option of voting early at their County Election Board.
Kay County Election Board Secretary Carol Leaming said early voting is open to all voters.
“You do not need to provide an excuse to voter early. Oklahoma allows early voting for all election conducted through the State Election Board from school board and municipal elections to state and federal elections. This is a great option for those who will be out of town on Election Day or who want to avoid long lines,” Leaming said.
Early voting is available March 30 – 31 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the County Election Board, located at 219 S. Main St. in the Kay County Administration Building in Newkirk. Leaming reminds voters that early voting is not available at polling locations.
The Kay County Election Board is located at 219 S. Main St. in the Kay County Administration Building in Newkirk and is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
