Phyllis Elaine Johnson

Phyllis Elaine Johnson (Bill and Mary’s Angel) of Ponca City, joined her mom, dad, brother and sister in heaven on Dec. 16, 2020 at the age of 56.

Phyllis was born on Oct. 1, 1964 in Blackwell to Bill and Mary Johnson. The family moved to the Braman Farm in 1969 where she helped on the farm. O ne of her favorites was gathering the eggs. She attended Braman Schools. Phyllis loved to go camping, swimming, to basketball games and she loved her wrestlers who she said protected her. She always looked forward to Teresa taking her to Branson to see Elvis, who she loved. For her 50th birthday she visited Graceland. Her hobbies were coloring and drawing. Her contagious sweet smile would light up the room. If you needed a back rub everyone knew who to go to, hers were the best. Oh, and the bear hugs, if you got a hug hang on because she meant those hugs with all her heart. Phyllis was the most caring, loving soul you would ever meet. She was an angel sent from Heaven, cherished and adored her whole life, as an angel should be. God knew what he was doing when he sent her to us. She never met a stranger and would never forget a name. Phyllis was part of the Opportunity Center Family where she worked and loved the people she worked with.

Phyllis is survived by her sister Teresa Beard and husband Danny, brother Mike Johnson and wife Robin, all of Newkirk. Nieces and nephews, Mindi, Kayla, Trevor, Walker, Jennifer, Amber, Justin, Drew, Matt, Kay Ann and Erin. Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who loved her dearly and longtime special friend Paul. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Mary Johnson, brother Billy Johnson and sister Linda Kay McConnell, all of Braman.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to her house staff who took such great care of her.
