The Board of County Commissioners of Kay County, Oklahoma, met
in regular session at 9:00 a.m. o'clock a.m. on Monday, August
22, 2005, in the Commissioners Court of the Kay County Courthouse
in Newkirk, Oklahoma. Notice of the meeting was posted
for public information on August 19, 2005, at the Courthouse
front door, Commissioners Court, and basement handicapped entrance
of the Kay County Courthouse in Newkirk, Oklahoma.
Chairman Wilson called the meeting to order. Those present
were as follows: Wayne Leven, Vice-Chairman; Dee Schieber, Member;
Pat Schieber, Kay County Treasurer; Everette Van Hoesen, Kay
County Sheriff; Kay County Election Board Secretary, Carol Kellum;
Rog Allen, KACY Radio; Sharon Rowen, Ponca City News; Tammy Reese,
Kay County Clerk/Secretary (see sign in sheet).
Motion was made by Schieber and seconded by Leven approving minutes
of August 15, 2005. Motion carried: Wilson, aye;
Leven, aye; Schieber, aye.
Public comments were made by Orva Rothgeb who presented the Commissioners
with a petition with 30 names on it from the citizens of Tonkawa
who are against putting in another landfill in Kay County.
Wayne Leven noted that one or two names were repeated on the
petition.
Motion was made by Leven and seconded by Schieber to approve
purchasing a postage machine from Oklahoma Mailing Equipment
upon majority of officer's comments, preference and better pricing.
Motion carried: Wilson, aye; Leven, aye; Schieber, aye.
Motion was made by Schieber and seconded by Leven acknowledging
Free Fair's and Kay County OSU Extension Center's Requisitioning
Officer-Larry Klumpp/Receiving Agent-Mary Rhyne, Chad Otto, Brenda
Case, Jeanette Bahjat/Inventory Clerks-Jeanette Bahjat.
