Lady Tiger Basketball Team
Gears Up For Competition
Twenty-four prospects for the Newkirk High School girls' basketball
team are currently gaining an understanding of the schemes and
expectations of new NHS Head Coach Jeff Zinn during his four-day
camp that began on Monday, June 4 and continues through Thursday,

test their abilities over Sunday-Wednesday, June 10-13 in a summer
league at Anadarko that features more than 50 schools.
The Lady Tigers will have two squads at Anadarko that will play
multiple times each day, beginning at 6:00pm on Sunday against
Berryhill. A tournament will be staged late Tuesday and Wednesday
to conclude the proceedings.
Participating in the local camp that was administered by Coach
Zinn and new NHS Assistant Coach Lori Mayden were two seniors-to-be
Lauren Leven and Megan Sweaney; eight juniors Jessi
Butler, Meeka Gentry, Hayley Luis, Katelyn Peters, Leah
Peters, Kaylyn Pulley (injured), Allison Scott, and Janell
Simpson; five sophomores Sara Felix, Jessica Hensley, Chelsea
Johnston, Courtney Landis, and Kaydee Vap; and nine incoming
freshmen Ashlyn Ball, Cheyene Bergman, Shelby Carpenter,
Dana Counterman, Lacey McCombs, Jacklyn Rhodes, Megan Schieber,
