Leonard Horinek
 Leonard John “L. J.” Horinek, longtime Newkirk area farmer/rancher died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014 at the Kansas Veterans Home in Winfield. He was 90.
  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31 in St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church of Newkirk with the Rev. Kevin Ratterman as Celebrant. Committal service and interment will be the same day at 2 p.m. in Newkirk Cemetery. Miller-Stahl Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
 The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Mr. Horinek’s name to “Knights of Columbus” through Eastman National Bank, Box 468, Newkirk, OK 74647-0468.

Lorene Kirkendall
 Lorene Maxine Kirkendall, longtime Newkirk resident, died late Saturday afternoon, Oct. 25, 2014 in Hillcrest Manor, Blackwell. She was 90.
  Graveside services were held Oct. 28 in the Newkirk Cemetery with Mrs. Kirkendall’s grandson, the Rev. James Alan Brock, youth pastor of Newchurch in Oklahoma City officiated. Miller-Stahl Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
 Those wishing to may make memorial contributions in Mrs. Kirkendall’s name to Ross Hospice through Eastman National Bank, Box 468, Newkirk 74647-0468.

Sharon Waner
 Sharon Dianne Engelking Waner was born on July 24, 1942 in Ponca City to George and Dorothy (Law) Engelking.
  Services will be held at Fist Christian Church in Guthrie Saturday, Nov. 1 at 10 a.m. with graveside services to follow at the Newkirk Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
