Bill Rigdon
 William Everman Rigdon a self-taught farmer went on to farm a lot more acres. Bill, at the age of 72, died from Idiopatic Pulmonary Fibrosis in the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City on Monday afternoon, August 4, 2014, with three of his five sons by his side along with his wife of thirty years.
Services were held Thursday, August 7th in the First Baptist Church in Blackwell with Rev. Rick Longcrier of First Baptist Church in Miami, Oklahoma, officiating. Burial followed in the Blackwell Cemetery with Steve Wooderson officiating.
 The family requests in lieu of food and flowers that donations be made in Bill’s honor to a farming scholarship in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma   74631.

Earl Turner
 Earl Wesley Turner, lifelong resident of Newkirk, died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014 at his rural Newkirk home. He was 88.
  Private family graveside services were held Saturday, Aug. 9 in the Newkirk Cemetery with Danny W. Cornish officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Miller-Stahl Funeral Service.
 The family request that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Mr. Turner’s name to Hospice of North Central Oklahoma through Eastman National Bank, Box 468, Newkirk 74647-0468.

Sharon McFarland
 
Sharon McFarland, 71 of Arkansas City died Sunday, August 10, 2014 at her home.
 Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 14, 2014 at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home in Arkansas City. Jackie Vogele will officiate.
A memorial has been established with the Cowley County Humane Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
