Halloween Activities


Monday has been designated official Trick-or-Treat night in Newkirk by city manager Jane Thomas.

The following are activities in Newkirk on Monday:

• Downtown Trick-or Treat, 4 p.m.

•  The Newkirk Chamber of Commerce and Newkirk Herald Journal are sponsoring the 5th annual Halloween Costume Parade. Costume judging will be held at 4:30 p.m. at the Newkirk Public Library in four divisions (3 & Under, ages 4-5, ages 6-7, ages 8 & older).   The parade will begin at 4:45 p.m.

• The First United Methodist Church, 101 S. Walnut, is hosting a Trunk-or-Treat at the church parking lot from 4:45 p.m. until candy runs out.

• First Baptist Church-Newkirk, 4748 N. Pleasantview Rd., is holding a Fall Festival from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

• City Manager Jane Thomas said residents that want to participate in a Trick-Your-Trunk for the downtown area may use the City Hall parking lot.
